From Murray GM Gaby Martinez:
“B is one of my team members and she’s amazing! Whenever she’s on shift, the team is always laughing and having a fun time. She cracks jokes with the guests on the line and includes the other team members and grillers that she’s working alongside. At times it even feels like they’re putting on a show for the guests we have in line. You can just see a chain of laughter going down the line. A first-time guest came in, B took the time to explain the menu to him, how it all works, and answered any questions he had. The guest was unsure of what to order and was deciding between the Katsu and Pulehu. B explained both to him but the guest couldn’t decide, so, she came up with something fun to do. She played rock, paper, scissors with the guest. If she won, he would get Katsu, and if he won, he would get Pulehu. He ended up getting Katsu and B went on to recommend the Spicy mayo sauce with it. The guest wasn’t a big fan of mayo but said he’d give it a shot. It was fun standing by and watching this whole interaction take place and seeing B genuinely connect with the guest. A couple days later he came back! He went through the line & ordered the same food and got the spicy mayo. Before he left, he asked for B and thanked her for her recommendations. He said he loved the spicy mayo! Since then, he’s been back a couple of times and always has the same order. I just wanted to shout out this interaction she had, her genuine connection with a guest, and elevating their experience to the point where they want to keep coming back.”
“I also wanted to shout out one of my newer team members, Yoselin. She’s been with us for almost a month. She’s been doing a great job, catching on quickly and building up her confidence. Last night, which was a Friday night, one of my other team members had a situation come up and needed to leave. This would’ve left us in a tight spot, so I began to reach out for help. I wasn’t expecting much since I’m not sure anyone would be able to come in at 7pm on a Friday night. Yoselin replied right away that she could come in. She arrived within 30 minutes, and our other team member was able to leave. Her being there definitely helped us out that night. We would’ve been struggling if not. I talked to her afterwards and thanked her for coming. She said she knew we needed the help, and she wanted to lend a helping hand. I wanted to share my appreciation, just how she shared her aloha with us that night by coming in at the last minute to help her team out.”
