The 10 fastest-growing restaurants in America by sales

Every year, Nation’s Restaurant News and Datassential partner to present the Top 500, the definitive sales ranking of restaurants in America.

In 2022, a mind-blowing 456 restaurant companies in the Top 500 experienced U.S. systemwide sales growth, a massive number — more than 90% — even taking into account menu price increases that were necessary due to inflation.

But while most restaurants grew sales, some obviously did so more than others. Here, we present the 10 fastest growing chains in terms of domestic systemwide sales — those restaurants with the highest growth rates year-over-year.

This list is made up of smaller, emerging brands — only one of these 10 ranks in the Top 100, at number 59. All but two are limited-service brands, and both full-service brands are from the seafood/steak segment. Half of these companies more than doubled in size last year, with the top chain nearly tripling — it grew by 199.1%.
